Any expat Canadians out there living in the Auckland area of NZ, come along to Canada Day events on JUly 1. Hosted by the Canadian Club, starting with a Canadian pancake breakfast, complete with real maple syrup, at the Swanson RSA in Swanson at 10.30 am. Cost $5 for Canadian Club members, $10 non members, kids fee. The bar will be open for anyone who wants a drink with breakfast!
Directions: ? Exit the NW motorway at Lincoln Road, (turn left) go up Lincoln to Universal Drive (2nd set of lights), you can only turn right – it is by the new PaknSave. Go down Universal Drive until roundabout – go straight across, which is Swanson Road. Go though Ranui where there are shops and a couple of churches. About five minutes later you will see the RSA, which is opposite an orange Petrol Station (on the left). The RSA is marked with a BIG SIGN on the right. If you hit the shops in Swanson you are lost, and will have turn around and go back
Second event is a Free for all Canada Day quiz night at the Drake in Freeman's Bay. From 6:30 pm onward. Event is free but you can buy food and drink from the bar. The Drake, 2 Drake Street, Freemans Bay (Tel: 307 3220)
