Hi Mod, no, I've checked the relevant documents and I'm definitely NOT Ron, it appears.Wouldn't mind his talent though.
Cheers, MN.

Hey all - I've lived in London for 5 years and spent the last 4 Canada Days at the Maple Leaf street party. Its true, to buy beer at the pub is next to impossible, and expensive - works out to about £30 a case. My friends back home just about died when I told them that. So buy your beer from the Canada Shop a few doors down on Maiden Lane. Its actually an Oz/NZ/SA/Canada shop, last year they got smart and sold bottles in iced bags.

The other thing that is tricky is going to the Loo. You can't get into the one at the Maple Leaf and all the bars in the neighborhood watch their doors and won't let you when they see you coming in your hockey jersey or Canada Kicks Ass tshirt. There are public ones in the Piazza in Covent Garden. Def go there.

Hey guys! I've been to the past 3 street parties without so much as getting close to the Maple Leaf's front doors! Last year was a bit rain but if it's a nice day then it's gold!

I read somewhere though that they weren't gonna do the street party this year cuz of safty concerns or something. anyone know anything about this?

I can't imagine how they stop it with loads of Canadians descending on them but we'll see.

See ya there!

There's a small Sainsburys Local just off Maiden Lane - that's where I always stock up on cold beer for the event.

Hey Kirsty! I see you're still kickin around in these parts. It's Zac here by the way. This will be my last Canada Day here as we're headed back home.

I'm wondering what the heck is going on this weekend as well. Would rather celebrate on Saturday but if everything is going down Friday evening then so be it. It will be interesting to see what happens when people start congregating on Maiden Lane.

Anyhow, I look forward to celebrating with my fellow Canucks.

Hey Zac! Glad to hear you're still around, you'll have to go out in style if this is your last London-based Canada Day! As usual I will have to convince some of my Aussie mates to join me for the festivities but it's harder than usual since I don't know what's going on! Might rock up to the pub super early on Saturday and infiltrate and spend the day in there. I haven't made it into the pub three years running so will have to do my best. Outside is good but the no music thing sucks.

See ya down there!
