Canadian B1 visa owning car in USA

Hi all, I have a quick question in regards to owning a car in the USA. I am a canadian citizen working for a canadian company and spending a lot of time on the east coast of USA working for them. I usually end up with over 20K in rental car costs a year. I am thinking of just buying a car in the USA and keeping it here and use instead of renting a car since it will be a lot cheaper. I enter on a B1 business visa and am getting paid by a Canadian company, never had an issue at the border as they understand the NAFTA rules for B1. However, my question is if I get pulled over by a police officer for any traffic violation, will I get hassled for being a canadian with temp B1 visa with canadian drivers license but owns a car in the USA? Thanks!

No problem with cops. However you may have trouble plating and registering the car without a US DL and without an SSN.
