Canadian Business partner wants to live in the US

I run a small website business with a partner who is a Canadian citizen. She wants to live in the United States for up to 6 months each year, and continue to work on the business as her sole source of income. She does not have enough income to live their without working.

I am aware that there does not seem to be a legal way for her to do this, but I think she will try to anyways (if anyone knows of a legal way, I would be very happy to hear it). My question is whether or not I face any possible penalties if she does go to the US and we continue to pay ourselves income. Would I be treated like an employer of an illegal immigrant, even though the business in not in the US (but we receive income from American sources) and face possible criminal penalties?
