Canadian buying and operating a fast food franchise in CA

I want to buy or build an Amaerican fast food franchise in the San Diego area and operate it with my family as soon as possible and then build a few more, since we are all Canadian citizens, how do I go about doing this, if at all?

If your investment above US$150k or better above $200k you can get E2 visa.

If not you can start a company which own the business you can operate by some one???? you can not get salary from the business but can wthdraw profit as dividend.

I am not lawyer or CA. Please confrim these with them.

Are you sure as a canadian citizen one can invest $150,000 US or more and legally operate it in the States? If true, is there any restrictions in terms of the fields in which investment must go to? Thanks,

Does anyone know about the tax issues of a Canadian operating a franchise business in the US? How bad is the tax to both the American and Canadian governments?
