Canadian Chefs - Working Holiday

Post Thu Feb 04, 2010 11:46 am

Hello, I am from Canada and this is my first post. My husband is an experienced, professional chef and we would be interested in a working holiday (short-term) in Europe. Does anyone have any direction or suggestions?

Thank you! :)

Most Working Holiday or Youth Mobility visas have strict age restrictions. You can find quite a bit of general information via google, (Just google "European Working Holiday visa") which is useful to get an idea of where you'd like to go, and of course there's always the language issue... If I could speak German I would have definitely gone there instead of the UK.
Keep reinventing yourself.

It would be brilliant for you to come to Cyprus and work in one of the new 50star hotels that are opening in Paphos. They are desperate for chefs that can be creative and distinguish themselves with their imaginative plate layout of unique fare. You would be well cared for by your employers and the sun and sea would be brilliant for the whole family. Think about it and let me know.

Thank you for your reply and information. I have to admit, I don't know a lot about Cyprus, but it sounds intriguing. We are looking for a short-term overseas experience (with our 11 yr. old son). Can you provide further details or direction for accommodation, wages, which hotels, etc? I appreciate this!
