Hi:

1. I am a canadian citizen, how long does it take to process L2 application? Would L2 have face to face interview at the Us border at the time of L2 application? where do I go to apply for L2? What kind of questions they may ask?

2. What other evidence I need to provide other than marriage certificate to apply for L2? ( any wedding invitation card, joint bank accounts, photo album? )

3. For L2 application, I am a canadian citizen and does it matter what kind of wedding to perform? does it matter how many people to witness our wedding? Can it be a destination wedding with only 2 witness? Must we have a formal wedding ceremony and banquet with lots of witness and our parents are there? ( if only 2 witness for the wedding , is that Ok? Would the US custom think that not having enough witness may not be a true wedding but a secret wedding? )

3. If we go to city hall on one date to get married when there is only 2 witnesses and one marriage offical, and a few months later we have wedding ceremony and banquet on a different date, does it matter that the wedding invitation card 's date is different from the date we get married in City hall with 2 witness? Would all these have negative effect on L2 application ?

4. If we go for destination wedding or city hall wedding, is that Ok to apply for L2? ( not sure if the US border will challege why only 2 witness and no parents are there to witness the wedding at the city hall or for destination wedding? )

Thanks if any one can answer my question.

Wish to pass

L-2 is done at the POE. You need proof of the relationship, basically. My sister had her marriage certificate, passport (same last name as husband) and DL (also same last name), that was enough, although I'm not sure she even needed that much.

It does not matter whatsoever what type of marriage ceremony you have, or how many people are in attendance, only that you are legally married.

Hi:
What about in the future when my spouse ( L1B ) would like to add my name in the process of green card, do we need to prove the husband-wife relationship such as marriage certificate, wedding invitation, wedding photos, joint bank account and same living address, some share phone bill etc? Are there any interview for L2 ( new application ) and L2 ( in the process of Green card ) regarding to proof of the relationship of husband and wife and true marriage?

Hi :

I am a canadian citizen, and my finace is L1 . To apply for L2, does it matter that whether the parents of bride and the parents of groom are present when we get married? Is that OK to go to get married in a city hall in front of marriagr official and 2 witness ( my finace's father will be my finace's witness, and I can get my close friend to be my witness since my parents are in another canadian province )? Is that Ok for the USA immigration department that me and my finace will apply for L2 and also in the future for my husband to add my name in the Green card process to prove I am his wife?

My parents and frineds and my finace's parents and friends will gather together a few months from now to watch our wedding ceremony ( formal but no legal power ) and banquet in this province ( but however, we would have already get married in the city hall to do the legal or informal wedding a month from mow ). DO you think this is fine?

After I have got married and still in the process of marriage registration before getting a marriage certificate in ontario , can I leave Canada for US for taking exam or would I have travel restriction before I get my L2 stamping? Do I need to fill out any form to apply for L2 and what other supporting documents I need to bring to point of entry to do L2 stamping? How long does it need to process L2 application before we get it and how to apply for L2 as a canadian citizen?

Hi:

I am a canadian citizen, and I am getting married with my finace who is L1B and canadian citizen as well and will get L2. In the future, after we get married for 2 years, if my spouse status changes from L1 to H1B. How can I adjust from L2 to H4? At that time when I like to adjust status from L2 to H4, what kind of documents I need to apply for H4? do I need to provide marriage certificate, wedding photos, wedding invitation, joint accounts etc?
Do they care if our wedding was only a legal but informal wedding in front of a marriage minister with only 2 witness just friends, and no parents and no other audiences are present? Would I have to attend a personal interview about our relationship of married couple?

What if 2 years later, my L1 spouse 's L1B is expired but H1B has filed but pending, can my spouse stay in USA and can I stay in USA? If my L2 is expired, and I have to leave USA and come back to canada until his H1B is approved and start to apply for H4 for me, how can I apply for H4 ?what kind of documents I need to apply for H4? do I need to provide marriage certificate, wedding photos, wedding invitation, joint accounts etc?Do they care if our wedding was only a legal but informal wedding in front of a marriage minister with only 2 witness just friends, and no parents and no other audiences are present? Would I have to attend a personal interview about our relationship of married couple?
