Canadian citizen having baby in the US.

I have a friend who decided to move to the states without a Visa just took a flight there with no intention of coming back. NOW she is apparently going to have a baby with a new man friend of hers. She says she is bartending and going to rent an apartment.

First of all how is it legal she is working? Can she rent an apartment on her own?

Secondly, I am worried because I know the US doesnt have a similar health care system, and I am almost certain this babys father wont have any type of insurance. I read that the cost of a birth could range anywhere from 10 to 30 grand. Her response to that was she will go to some social assistance place and they will help her? Havent found much about that so if anyone knows ...

Thirdly, Is there a possibility with a baby born in the states with a US citizen father that she could be deported and the baby left with the father or even worse put into the system? She is in Ohio.

I found lots of info online but lots is outdated and not sure the vability. Anything anyone knows I would appreciate.

She is working under the table most likely.

Anyone can rent an apartment there and as long as she has a bank account which is not hard for a Canadian no one will raise a fuss.

I have no idea concerning medical costs.

She could be deported but technically a Canadian can be in the US and have housing for up to 6 months at a time. But if they find out she has been working there illegally she will likely be kicked out.

The baby will automatically become an American when born.
