Canadian Companies in Dubai/UAE

Post Mon Dec 17, 2007 11:43 pm

Hi guys,
I need to have any info about Canadian companies who work in Dubai/UAE, or related website ,if anybody can help me in this regards I will be greatful.
the reason is : there is a law that says if any permanet resident person work for any Canadian based company in abroad and his/her tax payed by this company the days of working will consider as his/her presence in Canada and will add to his/her obligation for consideration to apply for Citizenship.

thanks in advance

BR,

Sam

I learned that if you were deployed abroad with Canadian forces or other government agencies then this rule applies to you. You should study this matter further to be sure.

Go to this job site Dubai jobs network, you will find a long list of companies in Dubai UAE.

Here is the CIC Web page concerning the number of days required and so on.
You should find some information on your specific question on this page.

Sam,
Your information is wrong. I called Canadian citizenship and immigration last week for one of my friends and they said that period will only help you to renew your PR. You will not be a citizen if you are not in Canada physically 3 complete years.

Hi
I am in the same boat as Sam, I stayed in Canada for slightly more than a year and had to move back to Dubai due to unavoidable circumstances , I do have my house in Vancouver which is presently rented. However, I am not sure if my PR will be renewed as I didnot complete 2 years of physical presence, Can some one advise the best way to continue my PR, so I can plan for citizenship etc at a later stage. I am willing to either work for a Canadian Company full time or represent a Canadian company as a business agent etc . Will much appreciate any hlep in this regard.
