Here's my question. I spend 4-6 months intermittently in the states with my family at our vacation property (a cabin with an small shop on the rural property close to the border). If possible, I would use the shop on the vacation property as a fabrication studio . I am aware that I can complete work personally for my family there and bring it back into Canada when we return home, but I am wondering can I complete projects that I have been contracted for by a Canadian client of which I would complete at the studio in the states and bring it back to Canada with us to sell to the client? I checked a bunch of the previous threads and could not find any related info on this. I would never be completing any work for any US clients nor would I be competing with their labour force in any form. Advice would be greatly appreciated. Because it's business related work, would we then have to travel through a commercial crossing instead because we would be bringing physical work back with us? For my family, this property is used for vacationing, but for me, it would be used for both work and vacation, so what would I tell them at the border when they ask what the trip is for? My office and business is set up in Canada and I have no employees. I do not want to do anything wrong, and the regulations can be quite confusing when they use the word 'work' in the US. Many thanks again for any help with this question.
