Canadian debt

Post Sun Nov 28, 2004 10:48 am

Hi, another question! Can Canadians still pay off Canadian accounts (eg. TD line of credit, OSAP, etc.) while living in Paris, or are we expected to pay everything off first (which would be nearly impossible, as my OSAP loan is huge)? Any info would be great!

Yes you can pay your debt while living abroad. I kept my td account open, changed my address to parents' address and had direct debits set up to the td account for my student loans. I also had a line of credit and a visa card that I paid using telephone banking.

You should not have any problem setting up your finances before you leave.
