Canadian going to work in US with non-Canadian spouse

Post Tue Feb 19, 2008 12:12 pm

Hi folks,

I have a US job offer and currently reside in Toronto. The problem is that my wife (of 4 years) has not joined me yet in Canada (we married while I was working in Thailand) so I'm unsure of the proper visa TN-1 or otherwise that will allow her to join me in the US after I work there for a few months.

Additionally, we have a newborn, who is 'in application' for Canadian citizenship, but will be travelling on a Thai passport as well. (She receives her Canadian passport after 8 months from birth).

Anyone with similar experience?

Thanks.

They will be able to obtain a TD visa (dependency) based on your TN Visa. There is no requirement for them to be Canadian citizens. You will need to show your marriage certificate and I-94 for proof of relationship.

Good Luck.
