Network Canada is a professional and social group for Canadians in London with over 850 members. In addition to networking and socializing opportunities, we offer a wide range of resources to assist with the transition of moving to and from the United Kingdom. The guidebook offers straightforward advice on visas, bank accounts, estate agents, taxes, travel, relocation, and much more. Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds and professions, and are themselves another incredible resource for advice. Further, we allow our members to tap into a network of professional advisors across England and Europe by hosting a variety of educational seminars.

Yeah, I'm replying to my own post. Here is an upcoming event.

Our next event is the May Martini Mixer (Saturday 21 May 05) at Canada House in Trafalgar Square. Come out for a night of martinis, baccarat and laughs. The theme is SPY / SECRET AGENT so get out your evening gowns or dark suits and put together your best Bond / Austin Powers / Get Smart / Secret Service outfit. Maybe brush up on your Connery impression and the rules of baccarat before you get on down to Canada House (an international focal point of espionage and intrigue). Members of several other expatriate groups have been invited, so expect a wide range of accents (other than bad imitation Scottish ones!). Already 180 of 220 tickets have been sold!

There is a group of people (mostly ex-pats from Canada, but everybody is welcome) called the Vandoos that holds a casual get together on the 22nd of each month. There is no cost to join or attend events. Contact info and details on events can be found at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/london-vandoos/

There are almost 400 members in the group, and typically we get between 50 and 60 out to an event. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, and it is a great way to meet people.
