Canadian in Canberra

Hey All,
I just discovered this forum today and I figured I would check it out. I'm from Vancouver and I have been in Canberra for just over a month now and will be here until about November of this year... I'm working as an aupair. However, because I'm busy with the girls for most of the weekdays I haven't really met any people closer to my age yet. Just wondering if there are any other people in Canberra or near?

I'm currently NOT in the Canberra region, and I don't mean to thread hijack, I was curious as to what the people where like in that region? I'm moving there for in a little over a year (for biking), and i'm not to sure of what to expect from locals, are they friendly?
