Canadian Lady wants to live in Las Vegas

Post Sun Dec 19, 2010 12:14 am

Hello folks, well here is my question:

I'm a 27 year old female that would like to become a cocktail waitress in Las Vegas and have no idea where to start. Sounds strange I know.. but it's right up my alley, and there's very good money to be made in the field. I've been to Vegas three times, I'm crazy in love with the place.

So i'm wondering:

Is it the TN visa i'm looking for? From what I've been reading, it looks as though this is a working visa, but requires the person to have a higher education. I don't have a college or university degree.

Is my first step to have a casino sponsor me, before i can do anything?
If i am able to find a casino who will sponsor me, what would happen from there? Would the casino just take over from there and process these forms for me?

I'm completely new to all of this, and have no idea where to start.
Help would be greatly appreciated. : )

Thanks very much!

Cocktail waitress is not a profession, believe it or not.

No employer is going to go thru the expense and trouble to sponsor you as a permanent resident to be a waitress, and the govt wouldn't accept it anyways.

Your best shot would be to visit Las Vegas and marry an american.

I have to say that this forum sure is a great wealth of knowledge, thanks to everyone here!!

I am wanting to become a realtor in LV, NV
I am currently an active realtor in Canada. My niche is my existing client base, many have expressed serious interest to purchase 1or 2 investment properties in the US.

Am I in the sameboat as the OP? Could a realtor be granted any type of work visa? How about a SSN?

If I could not be accepted as a realtor, how about being hired by a US real estate brokerage as a Canadian Buyer liason agent? Bringing investors to USA? I wouldn't reside in USA

Any suggestions?

TIA

Hi, I would like to add this in the hopes of getting a reply from agnelson.

I don't plan to immigrate to USA, I will still keep my principal residence in Canada.

I am hoping to somehow get legal permission to work with US realtors in LV as a Canadian with a LV realestate licence. Only coming in to US to conduct business once or twice a month.

I have Broker colleague in LV, could he hire/contract me?

TY
