Canadian Living in Agadir, Morocco

Post Mon Mar 12, 2007 9:49 am

Hello,

I'm new to this forum as I just found this website when I was browsing. Anyway, I'm a Canadian married to a Moroccan man and I've been in Morocco since May of last year. I'm looking for fellow Canadians that live in Morocco and possibly Agadir to chat with and possibly meet. I'm 24 years old, I'm a housewife and I'm desperately seeking people from back home.

Hi I am a Canadian who is
engaged to a man from Sale'.
I was wondering if we could
please chat sometime.
He would like to move here,
but if that can not work, I
would move to Morroco .
So I would really appreciate
being able to chat with another
person from canada, who now
lives there, to get much insight.
Thank you so much;

Hi House Wife,
I think I understand your feelings quite well. I lived in North Africa for a year and there were many times I wished for someone who really understood my Canadian culture and that of the country I was in.
If you are still there, happy beginning of Ramadan. That was difficult time for me -- as a non-Muslim, I had to get used to what seemed like a whole new set of norms during that month and in general people in my community seemed very agitated and on edge. (admittedly, with reasonably cause.) I'm open to a chat when ever.

Blessings on you,
Allyssa

Hi!
My name is Karim and I am a Moroccan but I was born and raised in Toronto. I couldn't help but read your posts and despite the fact that I am moroccan, I too have troubles sometimes when I visit morocco and feel the absolute need to contact someone from Canada. It is fine. I usually deal with is by speaking with my friends on the phone or listening to the music I would listen to here in canada.

Anyways I hope all is well with all of you and feel free to contact me if you need to talk to someone!

Cheers all the way from Toronto, Ontario :)
With Kind Regards,
Karim

Marrying a Moroccan man in Morocco-need info

Post Sun Jan 13, 2008 12:58 am

[i]HI,I am new to this forum. I plan to
marry a moroccan man. He lives in Er
Rachidia and I live in Canada. I have
been separted from my current husband for almost two years and I am awaiting my divorce.
I would like some information on the
whole process of marrying in morocco.
If I go there I will be staying with his sister until we get married, and at this time I do not know if transportation will be provided
by his family members.I hear that I could
only stay three months and then I have to
leave the country.Is that true?
So, I would need to know what documents
will be needed from the both of us and
their cost.
Also any other information you can offer.
I would like to hear from people who are
living in Morocco at this time with their
spouse and to know how they have adjusted
to their new country.Thanks

Hello Everyone:

I am a Canadian currently living in the US. I have accepted an expat position in Rabat and will be moving there with my family in August. We are all very excited. It would be great to meet fellow Canadians and Americans in Morocco.

I look forward to hearing from you. Some of the postings on this thread are a bit old and whether all the people who posted are still in Morocco.

I did find an interesting piece of information that there are 1000 Canadians living in Morocco.

Best,

Palash
