Canadian Marrying a UK Citizen

Hi

I am due to marry a Canadian citizen in the UK in August. He is still resident in Canada. I am a resident of the UK.
We have been told that my partner requires a marriage visa in order to marry in the UK. But we are unsure of where to find the correct visa application form and where to send it to!
Even when calling the High Commission in Ottawa we were told that it is up to us to decide which visa we needed!

Any help and advice would be gratefully received.
