Hi there
I'm Canadian, living in the UK on an ancestry visa as both my grandparents were born in the UK. I've had this visa for 3 years now, and at the time I applied the law meant the ancestry visas were valid for 4 years, instead of the current 5 years. This means I have to apply for an extension to my ancestry visa before September next year so I fit in with the current legislation.
I'm planning on marrying my fiancee in the UK on 02/10/2010 (by this point I'll have been living in the UK for 5 years, providing they allow me the ancestry extension.) Does anyone have any advice on restrictions/forms/legalities of marrying a brit while on an ancestry visa? I've read a lot about marriage Visas/fiance visas/ etc etc etc but can find nothing in relation to marriage with an ancestry visa.
Any advice on the process would be greatly appreciated as I'm very confused by the whole process!
