Hello there I have been searching for hours now trying to find answers to my question. Hopfully sombody can help.
I am in the Canadian Military and will be going to work in the states on exchange i believe under a NATO Visa for 4 years. I have a my Common Law wife in Canada which I obviously want to come with me. She will be attending a canadian university through online correspondance for the duration of the stay. She will not be working any job or have any income. From what I have read she is not eligable for a corresponding Nato visa as we are not married yet.
What are my options for her to stay with me there. Our innitial plan was to just fly back to canada every 6 months or so for a week or so and then go back, but from what I am reading this is illegal and does not work.
So is there any way that she can get a visa or stay for the whole 4 years with out any reprecussion as we clearly are there on a temporary basis. Just a long 4 year temporary basis after which we will be moving back to canada.
I believe I may have just found my answer that she can keep renewing a B2 every 6 months.
Does the distance learning to the university in canada count for a tie to canada?
I also read something about a family B2 but really can not find much on this.
There is no waythat she would be able to work at like a grocery store if she wanted to correct?
Thanks Sorry if I am duplication previous posts
