Canadian Passport Application

Post Wed Mar 24, 2010 11:34 am

Hi guys,

I'm actually just looking to apply for a Canadian passport from Canada. I have no travel plans at the moment, but figured some of you may be able to answer my questions as you would have gone through the process fairly recently.

My question has to do with including a Birth Certificare as part of the documentation package. I am wondering which type of Birth Certificate I need to include. I saw on the Vital Statistics Canada website that there are two types of Birth Certificates-the short form and the long form.

So, does anyone out there know the answer?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Short or long does not matter, as long as it has the raised/embossed stamp of your birth province's registrar.

If you have neither, get the long.
