Okay so.now that I am in the US, waiting for my green card application to be approved, my question about my Canadian passport is:

Is my surname still acceptable on my Canadian passport? Since I left CAnada 6 months ago, I have been married therefore my last name is different. I just got a new CA passport last year. Am I going to have trouble with my passport if I get my advanced parole travel document, go to canada to see my family, and have a different surname on my passport? Just a question.

Any travel documents will need to be in the name that shows in your passport. If you travel by air or train to cross the border, your ticket will need to be in your maiden name. If your AP is in your married name, you'll need to carry a copy of your marriage certificate with you just in case.

You can send your passport to the passport office to have your married name added to an adendum ID page if you like. That could take a while though, considering the current backlog of applications.

Yeah. I mean I will eventually get a new passport but I don't want to send it in right now. I guess I will just carry a copy of my marriage certificate and hope that saves me! haha Thanks Reba.
