So you must live near Plymouth then.
I was just making a general comment to people in the thread, there is a big push on because of WHTI to increase the number of NEXUS enrollment centres although they're all still around the Canadian border at the moment. However it does save the hassle with getting a passport photo done.
Or I suppose you could get an EDL if you live in a State that issues them, but they're no good for air travel.
A little known fact about NEXUS cards is that you can use them to re-enter whichever country issued it from anywhere, not just the US or Canada. The only requirement is that the POE is NEXUS-equipped, which makes it impractical to enter the US from a third country with a NEXUS card generally speaking (because most of the NEXUS machines are at land POEs or Canadian pre-clearance).
However, say you travel to a third country, e.g. in Europe and you have a NEXUS card and a passport and your passport expires while you are in Europe, you can still re-enter Canada using only your NEXUS card as all the major airports are NEXUS equipped.
In fact if you're a dual-citizen of a third country, you don't need a Canadian passport at all, because you can enter Canada and the US with a NEXUS card and you can use your foreign passport if you travel somewhere else.
