lol, I really don't care about what you do. But you are correct, for some people, the service could be very useful. Do they offer different fees, such as you just want to know where to get a picture done.

canadian eh, you came in here and the ONLY posts we see from you are touting the wonderful services of this passport company. Which, in any website forum, is considered SPAM. And in most any website forum, SPAM is against the TOS. And, according to the TOS, I could have just deleted it. We can only assume that given your exhuberance for the company, that you work for them, rather than you're just a customer.

To most folks, filling out an application form is not an incredibly difficult thing to do. Finding someone to do the photos is, and a quick email to the nearest consulate will get you an answer about who in your state can do them. I didn't have to drive down to Atlanta to find out that Sears does them, I just emailed them. Easy peasy. If I had had the time I could also have had the Atlanta consulate review my application and photos to ensure they would be accepted once they were received in Gatineau. However, I did not have enough time because my passport is about to expire and I'd like to go home for Canada Day.

So, while I'm sure your life is complicated enough to merit the use of a $100 service to have someone do your passports for you, most of ours are not. And when you make less than $10 an hour like I do, $100 is not easy to part with in the least. I'm glad you're rich and can afford it. Good for you!

Thanks for the info about the passport service, it may come in useful for others later sometime.

I mentioned the company once and was pounced apon by a few expats.Like I said it is not for everyone and nobody was able to answer my passport question just like I thought. Sorry for mentioning a companies name but I didn't realize that was a no no. Why is Sears okay to mention or CVS? I don't think $100 is a lot of money; you have a computer that cost a little more than that. Now I realize why the US is such a great place, people here embrase small business and don't put them down. If you would like to talk about other things living in the US, I am in. I would still like someone to answer how I would be able to get a passport for my partners child. I am originally from Montreal, where can you get a Montreal style bagel in this country? Please tell me what you talk about on here or do you chastise newbies that mention a companies name that is not known like Sears or CVS? Where did I mention what I do for a living?

I don't understand, why do you need us to answer the question for you, when you have hired this company to do it for you? Should they not be doing this work? if your looking for a cdn passport, info should be able to be found here http://www.ppt.gc.ca/index.aspx?lang=eng And if that does not work, then they can contact the closest Cdn Consulate http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/wa ... 160&menu=L

Tried that but the Government site is just for general info and getting a hold of a real person is impossible. Yes the passport help did get me the passport I needed. I mentioned my question because you all thought it was sooo easy getting a passport, so I tought since you are so good at it, you would be able to answer the question. Just like I thought, you weren't. Not everyone just has a picture question to answer. If you think the Canadian Passport Office is a well run machine, then I hope you don't run your own business. The problem with these blogs is that everyone thinks they no the answers but have no experience in the biz. Thought I would ask the experts on where to get Montreal bagels seeing how everyone knows everything. Wish I could offer a prize on someone that could correctly answer my partners childs passport question. I will eat crow and appoligize if anyone can do it. Of course if you are wrong, you are just proving what I thought. I think because someone mentioned Sears they must own stock in the company.

Montreal bagels are super hard to find in the States. I don't know where in the US you live, but if you're in the Boston area, try the Walnut Market in Newton (right by the Newton Highlands T stop on the Green Line-D). They have bagels from St-Viateur (personally I always preferred Fairmount, but I'll take what I can get!) and you can even get smoked meat!

Just reviewing the comments and someone said that most people don't have problems filling out the form. Just checked the with Passport Canada and the passporthelp company was right, 30% of all applications are rejected but it is higher for Canadiens living in the US. $100 is cheap when you consider you get your passport fast, with no problems and won't get turned back at the airport. Going back in June to pick up my Montreal bagels in Ottawa. By the way my favorite place there is Kettleman's Bagels. They even send them down to me but the shipping charge is a killer but worth it when you miss home. They even send Schwartz's smoked meat! hope I am allowed to mention those businesses. Funny I don't miss Timmy's but then again it is owned by American's.

I am originally from Montreal but call Ottawa home. I mentioned my favorite place Kettleman's in Ottawa and are as good at St. Viateur or Fairmont. I live in the middle of the California desert working for the military. So any cravings for home have to be delivered. Question to my expat friends; what small businesses do you miss living in the US? I know most people miss their fav food places but I am sure there are others. I believe in helping small businesses unlike some other people on this blog.

I don't really miss specific businesses as much as I do specific foods, things that you can't get down here (or at least, they're hard to find). For example: Smarties, Aero bars, all-dressed Ruffles chips, Dad's oatmeal cookies, ketchup chips (of course), God I could go on...
