There is a company that sends all that stuf to Canadiens living in the US but can't remember the name. I guess if we can't find the company, there is a business for a canadien. =D>

I'm sure some do have problems filling out forms, as they don't take the time and triple check them. There are various companies that will ship Cdn products south of the border, a quick google check will bring some up for ya. One is best to just pay friends to do it and cut out the middle man.

I was just on the phone to Kettleman's in Ottawa. They are sending me 2 dozen sesame bagels at $7.25 a dozen but I was afraid to ask what the shipping cost will be. I didn't ask for schwartz's smoked meat. Not much else Ottawa is known for except Golden Palace egg rolls. So question to other expats; what does your city have that is better than anything else?

I'm in the DC area, and really can't think of anything that I crave here. I do miss my Tim Hortons. They do have Tim Hortons up in RI and that area, but they don't taste the same.

Losy my taste for Timmy's when they tried to make themselves look Canadian when they were actually owned by an American company (Wendy's). Where are you originally from in Canada?

Yeah, I know, but as you said, it's easier (and cheaper) to just get friends who come visit to bring stuff down for you!

Nobody comes from Canada to visit me because I live in a restricted area. So I can only get stuff when I pay the shipping charge or when I go to Canada. I guess if you want the comforts of home, you have to pay the big bucks. I do like the fish tacos down here but their potion sizes at restaurants are killers, even on base. I was a cook when I was in university at a great restaurant in MTL, so I am trying to train some of the chefs here who want to learn how to make good food in Canadien sizes. This blog is supposed to be about Passport photos, so if anyone wants to know just ask.

canadian eh, you did not only just mention the company once, you posted about it even in the General forum, not just here in the Canadians in US forum, which made me, the moderator think you were spamming. I gave you the benefit of the doubt however and didn't delete the posts. All of which were touting the benefits of one particular company, and urging us to use said company. And with one's first and subsequent 7 posts, only about said company, we could very well consider that spam so that you can reach your 10 post minimum so that you can now post a URL link. On another forum I'm a long time member at, we call that a post slut :p

You can get Montreal bagels in Montreal.

Again, I'll second flames' question to you regarding your spouses' children's passports. Why can't your wonderful passport service company figure it out for you? If they're so great and can do everything, they ought to be able to figure out how to get those for you too. I would imagine you would simply fill in the forms, have their photos taken at some Sears studio near you, and then send them to their non-custodial parent for signature, then have non-custodial parent forward them on to Gatineau for processing. I'm guessing though, I don't have kids. Just dogs, and they don't need passports.

There is nothing in this city where I currenlty live that is any better than anywhere else in the world. I'd much rather be back in Toronto if I had my druthers. Which I don't.

A "blog" as you keep calling this, is actually a Web Log. A journal. A diary of sorts. This particular entity is more like a discussion forum. Thread even. And the OP (orignal post) was asking Where in the US can we get Canadian Passport PHOTOS done. So yes, it is quite ok to mention Sears, or CVS (who doesn't do them anymore, because they got new machines that for whatever reason can't print 2 x 2 3/4 size).

Yay! I can go home for Canada Day! I got my passport back already :D

I sent it Mon Apr 20, and got it back today, May 01. Only 10 days. I am quite amazed!

In Denver

At the Tabor Ctr (15th & California)
Go to Wolf camera and let them know that you need Canadian Passport Photos. They are very familiar with the requirements. They were great and the photos were under $20.

DO NOT GO TO KINKOS!!!

I was having the same problem. I emailed the Canadian Consulate in my state and they sent me a list of all the photographers approved to take the Canadian Passport photos.

Good Luck
