Canadian passport renewal


Hi, My Canadian citizen girlfriend stayed in the US longer than her limited stay and now her passport expires this year. will they renew it or deny it since she over stayed? Thanks.

Hi,

My Canadian citizen girlfriend stayed in the US longer than her limited stay and now her passport expires
this year. will they renew it or deny it since she over stayed?

I guess Canadian Government doesn't care about where and how long you stay in foreign country. As long as you can prove you are Canadian citizen, either with a birth Cert. or citizen card, you can renew it.

Option for Canadian in US, mail it back to Canada.
Canada Consulate in US will not do it , LAME!

But ur GF better watch out, US might ban her from future admission if they find out. It also jeapodize her immigration status, if you guys plan to get marry and stay in US.

No.
you can do a mail in applications
As far as I know, mail your old passport + paper work + proof of citizenship (birth Cert etc.)
They will mail everything back except the paper work.

Yes, it matters, but only to US officials. Canada doesn't really care. If you're so worried about being out of status (ie: illegal) she shouldn't have stayed in the first place.
