Canadian PR getting a L1 Visa

Hi,

I am a Canadian PR but not a citizen yet. I am currently work for a US based IT Consulting company in Canada, I interviewed for a position (which was not opened internally or externally) at our New York office, there hasn't been an offer yet but from what I understand it will be coming in the new calendar year.

I have been working for the company for three years now. I will be applying for my Canadian Citizenship in the next week or so since I have met all the requirements at this point, if I were to go I don't believe my Citizenship application would be affected?

Does anyone know if it would be harder for a Canadian PR to get the L1 vs. a Canadian Citizen? My company does not have an office in Turkey of which I am citizen of, so I am not sure if I will have any issues with getting the L1 if the job were to go through.

Your country of citizenship has no effect on whether or not you qualify for an L1 visa.

Only the actual "process" would be more difficult, since a Cdn could get the L1 at the border, and not require consular visa stamping.

But, a miguel sez, Cdn citizenship does not change anything with respect to eligibility, quota, approval, etc.
