Canadian Returning Home With Issues

Post Sat Jan 08, 2011 12:54 pm

So I have been living and working in the US illegally for the past 5 years. Intially I entered the US under a L1-A visa and then took a job with another US company who did not get the proper visa for me to work legally. During this time I have been paying taxes in US and doing everything else legally. I am now returning to Canada and wondering what issues I will have with myself, property and my car. The past is the past and I know I need to repair what was done. What steps do I need to make in order to somewhat fix this and have the availability to return to US for visits only.

Unless you have a miracle for an attorney you pretty much will be barred for at least 5-10 years. You would need to request a waiver in order to get back in for ANY reason but again that will be tough to get because of the time you over stayed.
