Canadian student wanting residency

Post Fri Nov 18, 2011 12:22 pm

I am a Canadian citizen currently living in California going to a junior college. I am planning on living in California after university but as most of you probably already know it is very expensive being an international student (which is ridculous that we are considered international when i lived an hour from the border). I want to try and become a resident of California so that my tutiton fees will be cheaper. If anyone has any suggestions on what I could do to become a resident it would be greatly appreciated.
PS I have an uncle that lives in California if that helps at all

Actually, that is the definition of international: living in another country.

using your logic, americans russians, finns, greenladics, and people from st pierre et Micquelon should be considered cdns, since they live close to canada? Now that would be ridiculous.

You cannot be considered cali resident unless you immigrate there, which in your case would be by marriage to a US citizen.
