The NEXUS office at Sweetgrass is directly next to the counter where you would present your I-20, in fact the same guy does both, he just walks out from behind the counter, goes into the NEXUS office, gets really confused, phones up his buddy, his buddy comes down, fiddles with the computer, etc. I've sat and watched them do it.

I think the best idea would be to phone USCIS at the airport if you can find the number and explain the situation to them, I can't see that it would be that big of a deal to walk back out to the NEXUS office, they don't take your bag off you until you go through pre-clearance.

Saves driving to Sweetgrass if nothing else.
