Canadian Tour Guide in US

Post Sun Oct 30, 2011 11:10 am

Hi everyone!
I am setting up a business that will be operating out of Vancouver, but taking people on sport tours of Canada and the states. I hope that you can give me some information on the regulations that I need to contend with operating the US (most of our clients will be a mixture of Canadians and Americans). I emailed the US Consulate here and was surprised that they said the was no visa requirements on their end, but I would need to check with Customs and Border Protection. Due to work I haven't been able to find the time to contact them, so if you have any answers that would be much appreciated. Thanks!

The consulate never issues visas to Cdns for work statuses, so were of litle value in answering your question. CBP would be the better source.

You would be admitted in B1 business visitor.

As long as the tour originates and ends in Canada, you will be fine under a B1. No visa. no I94.

Thanks both!
LAWS - Are you able to clarify what 'starts and ends in Canada' means? If we are we meet our Canadian guests in the States and then do the tour that probably wouldn't be acceptable would it?
