Your major in Marketing severely restricts any opportunities that may arise as far as NAFTA goes but it could come down to what is actually on your academic transcript. Sales and Marketing are not eligible professions.

You may wish to consult a U.S. Immigration Lawyer to examine your options. A quick review of your academic transcript may reveal what your possibilities are under TN if any. There are also Specialty Occupations under H1B Status that should be examined.

Unless you marry an American, getting work authorization with a Marketing major may prove very difficult. You could also resume your education to become eligible under other NAFTA categories.

As far as the U.S. is concerned, no education pretty well amounts to no employment sponsorship. So be sure to consider additional education as well.

Please clarify what a "3 career program in business admin" is. Is this a bachelor's degree? a DEC? If not a bach degree, you are not eligible for H1B. MC is correct that nothing in your education or post would indicate eligibility for TN, until you get least 3 yrs experience in a TN-eligible field.

You need to remove the ambiguity surrounding your education. If a Bachelor's degree that is fine. If only a 3-year college diploma, you will require three years work experience before becoming eligible for TN Status. You could obtain the required work experience before becoming eligible for H1B assuming the education is not at a Bachelor's level.

You are still very young at 22, conduct your own research and get another Bachelor's degree if every other route presents a roadblock. Many colleges and universities will accept transfer credit for past academic work so you may complete the degree faster as well. There are also some excellent U.S. online programs.

Hey Nick,

When I decided I wanted to move to the US, I had a degree in French and Spanish - not eligible for a TN visa. So I came to the US on a student visa, and enrolled in a technical program. At the end of the that program, I was eligible for a TN visa. I got hired on that basis and have been here ever since (I moved in 01).

if you can afford to come and take school here, I think that is a reasonably easy way to get down here.
