Canadian wishing to invest in a US company for residency

I'm a Canadian resident who's new to this forum and appreciate any and all advice on my plan. I'm interested in investing upwards of $500,000 in an environmental or other 'green' company in exchange for 'sponsorship' from this company for to look after any immigration issues ensuring legal residency for myself and family. I would also be interested in occupying some kind of position within that company which pays a salary, benefits, etc. If anyone has heard of any success stories surrounding this plan and or knows of anyone I can contact, you assistance is greatly appreciated.
