Why do you want to become a US citizen though? Just fur the helluvit? Or because you think the US is the be all end all, tanks are armoured with gold and their guns shoot magic bullets?

cuz it ain't yanno. Far from it.

The Canadian Forces are (though underfunded by the government) damn fine establishments, and I have several friends and family who are enlisted. I just don't understand why you'd join another country's forces when your own is just as good, and its already your own. Just walk on down to the recruitment office. You want bigger louder guns? The prestige? What?

If you're qualified for a TN, start looking for a job. It'll take you several years of course until you're eligible for a green card, but that's all you can do. Or marry an American, process to green card is a bit quicker. But then they might feel a bit used if all you want is the brass ring on the Army carousel.

If you join the Canadian forces, there are very often times if you're specialised, that you can work with American troops. I have a distant cousin who has commanded US troops all over the world, Beirut, Afghanitstan, Crete etc etc etc. And he's Canadian Army. I know a Canadian Army dentist who was stationed at Ft. Brag NC for several years on a work programme.

There is ample opportunity in the Canadian forces.

You can't fly Apache Attack Helos in the CF. In fact, our Forces do not have attack Helos of any kind. I'm not interested in serving oath to the Queen either. I have to if I want to become an officer in the CF.

I want to become a US Citizen because of a few reasons. Better opportunity for my degree, the 2nd ammendment, becoming a Warrant in the US Army and a few others.

You will need the qualification for flying Helicopter and stuff like that.

What is your degree ?

2nd ammendment. if you want that then go to the US. I'm against guns so good luck in getting your US citizenship.

BSc in Computer Engineering Technology. The right kind of attitude, hard work and determination are enough to see me do well in qualification for flying combat helos.

Enlistment oaths are sworn to the People, the Constitution and the POTUS.

Any other misconceptions you'd like to clear up?

Or the constitution. a 200 years old outdated document

Hehehe that's even worse than to swear oath on a person IMO ;)

Outdated? Nope, it's still a highly applicable document that defines the freedoms and guidelines for the government that Americans live with. Additionally, the Queen's role in Canada is long outdated.

For being an old document, it's the basis for many constitutions and charters world wide. Canada's own Charter is based off of it. Strange, ours was created in the 1980s.

Nobody care about the queens except people like you who don't understand that she's not doing anything anymore in Canada.

And the Constitution is one of the oldest worldwide and doesn't reflect anymore the needs of today. It is also not the basis for constitutions and charter around the world, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is.
