"Native Americans" (Canadians)can join the US Army or Canadian Army without special papers ie Green Card.
I work for the US Army in Germany and I have met a Canadian Native in the US Army (Marines)and that is what he told me, maybe it is the same guy.

Under various treaties though some of them are treated as US nationals or they can automatically get LPR status. You can join up if you are a US national (as opposed to citizen), but very few people are considered US nationals, mainly American Samoans and also Mariana Islanders whose parents didn't elect for them to be US citizens at birth (which is rare).

I want to become a US Citizen because of a few reasons. Better opportunity for my degree, the 2nd ammendment, becoming a Warrant in the US Army and a few others.

You will need the qualification for flying Helicopter and stuff like that.

What is your degree ?

2nd ammendment. if you want that then go to the US. I'm against guns so good luck in getting your US citizenship.

Rommsey, everyone in the CF takes a Solemn Affirmation which includes the Queen and Her successors. Everyone from Pte Bloggins to CDS. Weren't you in the Artillery?

Also, Kmarkl joined the US Army. You should contact him. He's on SOT all the time.

So I understand that I am now posting to a 3 year old topic (I think). I also understand this is my first post here on these forums. I wanted to introduce myself. I am a canadian that IS serving in the US army. I have been accepted and at most I might get a playful joke about my origins. Not even the drill sergeants in basic training made fun of it. No one seemed to hate the fact I was from Canada and serving in the US Army.

I was looking for information on trying to get my parents a house in Canada (while I am in USA) and I found these forums and they interested me. I sought further and I found this thread and I simply could not resist posting here.

To those here from my homeland hating on this person for his intent to join are wrong. It's disrespectful to him and you disrespect both countries simultaneously.
