Hi there,

I am a Canadian that just got married to a Americain citizen. I just got my 2 year temporary green card. Yanke doodooollle. My wife and I a looking to relocate to Blaine, Washington state and wait three years to get the citizenship for me. So far so good. My concern is that i would like to work in Vancouver, BC (i am specialize in a field that i cannot work elsewere than Vancouver, BC) which is 30 minutes in commute from Blaine. The reason we want to live in Blaine,WA is that the housing market is half the price of the housing market in Vancouver,BC. I would commute to work (Vancouver, BC) everyday and return to Blaine to live with my wife which she will work in Blaine,WA or Bellingham. So far so good. My question is: Can i commute to Vancouver, BC, everyday and return to Blaine, WA without impacting my three year waiting line for a 10 year green card or my 3 year citizenship process.

Let me know. Thanks,
Canook

I think the 3 years for citizenship only starts after the 2 year temporary green card so it is 2 +3 = 5 years to citiz when married to a US citizen. Please correct if others have a different opinion.

Its 3 years, full stop. So 2 years with conditional and one year into the 10 year card.
