Canadians buying a condo in Maui guidebook?

EH there, hehe,
We MIGHT have a chance to look into picking up a condo in Maui at some time in the future. However, the more I dig, the more I find new things that I never even thought of. Anyone know of any guide books or manuals or seminars, or dvd's or websites that go step by step thru the whole process for this? We want to be completely informed before making the decision to buy. Id like it mostly for rental income, our retirement income that is. Anyone already done a deal and knows where to go please let us know, not only us but everyone else here. Any warnings? Like what is up with shortsales, foreclosures...I want the condo as cheap as possible. RIck
