Hallo. I am a graduate student on exchange in Linz, Austria. I am registered at university until the end of December and I plan to work next term in Austria. Are there any Canadians living in this region or Upper Austria who would like to connect? If so, let me know. Prost! Tina

Hey! I am planning on being in Vienna in early December. I am from BC. How long have you been in Austria? Is it hard to find work there?

Sweet! I haven't been to Vienna yet but I hear it is beautiful. I have only been here for a couple of weeks so I don't have a lot of info. I am getting help from the school and there are a few opportunities for an internship. What kind of work are you looking for? I am originally from Edmonton but I am studying at UVIC. What part of BC are you from?

Wish I could get an email when someone responds to one of my posts! I am in Vienna now, staying with my girlfriend. Not sure what kind of work I casn expect to find, perhaps ESL? I am from BC, Kelowna to be exact. I here it is -25 there right now, probably colder in Edmonton! When will you be in Vienna?

Hey Tina!

I am Steve, originally from Toronto and now live in Upper Austria. I go to Linz ALL the time! Yes, I know..I'm a little late and if you haven't gone back yet, I'm up for a brewsky or two. Would be nice to meet another fellow Canadian...I don't get to meet many ..not even Americans where I live...I'm in a small town just north of Linz, so native English speakers are rare.

Hey Steve.

I am back in Victoria now. I left Linz at the end of January. Yeah, it is tough to find English speakers outside of Vienna. Even Linz was sometimes a challenge for me with my limited German/Austrian. It was a great experience though - loved it! I am sure Austria is even better in the summer with all of those gorgeous lakes.

So what do you do there? How long have you been? Which town are you in? Perhaps I have been there. I have some friends in Linz and Vienna who would like to meet up with you. They are Austrians but they speak English very well. Let me know if you're interested and I'll connect you.

Auf wiedersehn!

Woops,

Sorry for the late reply. I live in a town called Freistadt and have been here for a little over 5 years. I am self employed now, so I have more flexibility. I am so up to meet other Canadians or other English speakers. PM me for my contact info and maybe you might visit again or you can introduce me to some other people. Happy to hear you enjoyed Austria..it is a nice country...

Regards,
Steve
