Canadians in Brisbane

Post Mon Jun 11, 2007 7:37 pm

I have been in Aus for 2 years now and am missing my fellow Canadians - the accent, familiarity, etc. Are there any events in Brisbane for Canadians to meet up for a chat? Thanks in advance!

I have no idea. We just arrived here a month ago and have been wondering the same thing. The only advice I've gotten is to go to watch the hockey team (Bluetongues) play since there are usually lots of Canadians.

If you find a club be sure to post it. By the way I'm 28 and have a toddler and a baby. Just thought Id' mention it in case you're around my age.

If your missing the accent, BBQ's on Saturdays, hockey etc, its all here.
I introduced beer can chicken to a bunch of people and they were absolutely amazed.
We have two girls, 11 and 8.
Give me a shout and we'll hook up and have some fun a Saturday afternoon.

lukester,

Where abouts are you in Brisbane? We're in Wellington Point in Bayside. Also, do you play hockey here? Just asking because we'll be trying to get on a team as soon as we get our gear.

Bluetongues final home games for the
Season are happening this coming sat
and sunday! It is make or break for the
Tongues. If they can win both games
on saturday and sunday then they are
going to make the finals down in Penrith
for the first time ever! These games
should be really exciting!
So come on down and watch!
We sit behind the penalty box so come
over and introduce yourselves if you
are there. My name is Sandi and my partner
Jad, while not Canadian, has lived there
for 3 years in the past.
We can introduce you to Mike, our
film guy who films all the Bluetongue games
for Bris 31 telecasts!
Hope to see you at the game!
If any Canadians want to chat with Australian
and ex pat Canadian Hockey fans, or want links
to hockeyclubs in Aus.
Join our hockey forum and
you will meet a whole community
of hockey mad nutters. Hope to see
u on there soon!
Ps.I am the howler on there.
Let's Go Bluetongues!
