Canadians in Bristol?

Postby SaaraG on Fri Mar 24, 2006 2:49 am

Hello all!
I've been living in Bristol for a year and a half and am getting married to a Brit next week. Now that it looks like I'm going to be here for awhile, I thought I'd look around for some Canadians in the Bristol area! Anyone here? Would love to chat and hear an accent from home (or if possible, some french with a Canadian accent!)
Cheers!

Hi I was just browsing looking for some cheap flights to visit back home and I just noticed this site where all canadians in uk communicate. Well I should have looked for this along time ago when i first moved to the Uk and got all depressed missing home, family, friends, shopping, food and friendly people. Anyways am from Montreal/Quebec originaly and I just wanted to say hello and all the best wishes for your marriage.

Congrats on the marriage!

I met some Canadians a while ago who said they live in Bristol. I just met them briefly at a pub though, so I'm not sure their contact details. But, they're out there!

I'm sure you can find some around :) Wear a hockey toque or something and I'm sure any Canadian who sees it will be sure to say hi!

Do you know, I think I might be turning into a stalker?! Every time I see someone in a Canada sweatshirt or a hockey jersey, I ask them "Are you a Canadian or is that false advertising?" and so far they are always Brits who went on holiday (ALWAYS to Vancouver...do they know how much else there is in Canada???)

New Montrealer in Bristol

Postby RomanRoman on Sat Apr 22, 2006 11:15 am

Ello Ello,

I just moved to Bristol two weeks ago. I was asked to join Airbus by a former employee of my ex company. So I am just intoducing myself. Didnt know there were too many other canadians here. Did come across a few ex Bombardier people and saw a quebec flag sticker on a car. So what do we do here? Anyone know where to watch the playoffs?

Hello,

I know that you posted this quite some time ago but just signed up to this website. I am from Ontario and have been living in Bristol for about 6 months (same situation I think, moved here for a British guy). Hope you had a wonderful wedding! Would like to hear how your getting on after a couple years, still feeling quite homesick myself.

Cheers!

Hiya Canadian Girl, (Roman if you are still about) and Saara,

I'm in Bristol too. I should actually say. I sleep in Bristol. I'm working in Wiltshire, so I have a long drive to and from work every day.

Canadian Girl, I can understand the homesickness. Been here for a few years, don't know if it ever disappears entirely, but when I get down, I look at the Canadian weather and thank goodness I'm not at back in the frozen wilderness of home.

Maybe we could have a Canadian night out on the town?
