Canadians in South Florida

Post Fri May 22, 2009 10:57 am

Hi All,

I've checked out Canadians in Florida and found only one posting. I need a little help which would be greatly appreciated. Is there anyone here in SF on a TN visa without the typical Nursing, Engineer or Computer Analyst profession? I am actually looking into Vocational Employment Counselling. I have looked everywhere online, been to a number of places to hand over my resume and it seems there is either a freeze everywhere or that nobody is hiring.

My husband and I are both on OPT but we would like to stay possibly for another year or two in TN status. Can anybody provide thorough advice? I'm tired of looking for work online as it is me plus hundreds of thousands of other applicants. I usually go in person but again its the same response. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have all of the requirements we just need a job offer!!

You're in the same boat as everyone else from the sounds of it, unemployment is going up PDQ in SE florida: http://www.bls.gov/eag/eag.fl_miami_msa.htm

Your line of work would sound like it's in demand, however the place to start might be a govt. agency which is always hard when you're in a non-immigrant classification.
Steve.
