Hi there!

We are a young Canadian couple planning to move to St.Croix, US Virgin Islands (Caribbean), by 2008.

We are not near retirement, so we will need to continue working. I am a translator and work from home, so would I be allowed to retain my Canadian clients while working from my new home on St.Croix? What kind of visa or permit would be required? My fiancé, also a Canadian citizen, would either do the same as me, or find employment on St.Croix, or open a small business down there. He is a web developer/programmer. We are planning to buy a property on St.Croix, and were also wondering whether owning property would help us get a full-time residency status.

I would also love to hear about fellow Canadians living in the USVI.

We are very excited about this, but want to go about everything honestly and carefully! Thanks in advance for your help

Cheers,
Julie
