Candian in US filing joint tax with wife in Canada

I am a Canadian citizen living & working in US Can I file a US tax return jointly with my wife living in Canada ?
I have done calculation on turbotax both as filling separately and jointly with my wife. I am getting $9000.00 return if file jointly as against paying additional $2000.00 if filing separately.

You can and should file jointly, but then she must report all her world income on that return too.

If you are still considered resident in canada, you should be looking only to reduce your US tax below your Cdn tax, any more than that will simply be taken by canada.

I am having problem entering my wifes world income. The software accepts only w4 as wage income and she got Canadian T4 no W2

You have to override. Software is designed for simplest cases. Talk to them.
