Canuck in Cairo

I have been living in Cairo for about 18 months and visited much of the country. I would be pleased to give advise for those thinking of travelling or living in Egypt.

Hi
I and my wife and son (15) are looking at a position in Cario. Can you tell me good places to live (ie. in Maadi!) and what about the pollution I read about? Is it as bad as it seems? My wife and son have slight asthmatic conditions that rarely require a inhaler....is the air so bad it would affect them?

Thanks for any info
