Canuck in US - What happens if I get sick ?

hi,

my girlfriend and I are moving to the US under the TN status to obtain related work experience,

knock on wood, but what happens if we require medical attention (ie. sick, broken leg, or even surgery ??..)

Any suggestions (particularly from people already leaving in the US)

Do we hurry are asses back to Canada ? or do we get extended coverage Canada??

You would lose your coverage after a certain amount of time as you would not be deemed a resident of Canada anymore (not sure when, check the rules..). Even during the eligibility period, the coverage is extremely limited.

Your employer should have some kind of health plan for employees that you can take part in. If not, you should buy your own insurance.
