Car insurance while in Mexico

Hey folks,
We're leaving for Huatulco in the next month and have gotten to the point of insurance for our vehicle, here's the issue;
Ontario insurers will only offer coverage to the US/Mx border, from that point on ...?
What have others done? Any help out there?

You will need a temporary importation permit to drive into Mexico. Information found here:

As for insurance, you can purchase a Mexican policy shortly before leaving or on the US side at any number of border towns. More info at:
