hi all, I have a good one for you. I hold a cdn, and a NZ passport. I was BORN in CDN to a NZder..and my father in 1971 ensured I had NZ citizenship at that time..I lived and worked in NZ last yr, and moved back to canada. Now I have work lined up in AUS. My daughter is 14 and has a CDN passport. My daughter stayed in canada while i worked in nz, now she wants to move with me to
australia . my question is 'As a NZ citizen but not living in nz can I still get her a grant of citizenship so she can move with me to AUS and go to school?..i looked on the immigration website to understand this but my situation seems less than common. Although she doenst have citiznship for aus or nz, she is my birth daughter and has my name. does anyone know if I can 'add her' to my passport. the information I found pertaining to this was sketchy, indicating that in order to pass on citizenship to her I had to 'live in NZ for '5'yrs and be of good character and all that..the problem is I dont want to move to nz for 5 yrs without my daughter, I want to move to AUS with her soon....I hope this whole thing makes more sense to you than me.
