Dear All,

My beloved and I applied for our C of A in February 2010. I requested my passport to be returned after a couple of months which they did with request for Affidavits. We got these arranged and returned in May ..... still no reply, update or response......

Anybody else who had to send Affidavits - how long did it take after that to get your certificate???

Yours worried.

Hi guys,
I am in the same dock as you guys. applied for a COA at the beggning of June and now its more than four weeks gone, I haven't received COA yet. They send a confirmation letter, stating that they have my application and it saying don't call unless urgent.Me and my sweetheart booked a holyday next month,I dont know when they gonna send the god damn passport. My case is pretty streight forwad, I am Tier1 and my fiancee an EU national and enough time left in my visa. UKBA is terrybly slow in processing papers, it took 8 months to get my passport back when I applied for a visa. Fingers crossed this time might get faster. Has anybody got their papers recently? Can you please post the date you applied and COA issue date?
Thank You.

I submitted my COA application on the 23rd of May, 2010. The Home Office sent me a letter stating that they had received my application on the 25th of May. It has been 8 weeks today, and I am still waiting.

I have called the Home Office a number of times, and get the standard 'we can't tell you anything until it has been 14 weeks' reply. My wedding has been booked ( and paid for!!!) for the 20th of August in Scotland. I need to post Banns by the 5th of August and am in a real panic! We sent a letter to the Home Office a week ago asking them to 'speed things up' so to speak, and also included proof of the chapel, reception and honeymoon being booked.

I thought my application was pretty straight forward. I am on a Tier 1 visa that is valid for another year and a half, and then can apply for residency without needing a spousal visa. Yet, I find myself still waiting!!!

I will write another post when (and if?!) I hear anything! This is sooooo stressful....puts the rest of the wedding stuff into perspective! (No longer caring about flowers, colour schemes and what to do with my hair...I would just like to get married)

IT CAME!!! I arrived home yesterday to a 'Sorry we missed you' card from the royal mail. Went to the post office 1st thing this morning and there it was!!! =D>

Date processed said 15th July, so it took them awhile to post it.

I dont think calling them really helped, most people I spoke to refused to look at my file. We did send in proof of the wedding being booked (chapel, reception and honeymoon) a few weeks ago, so I am thinking that that may have sped things up. If you already have booked things and it is getting close, send it through to them. It cant hurt.

So just a little over 8 weeks waiting in total.

Good luck to all, and fingers crossed!

Hi Guys, My COA came today, a bit early than expected. It took exactly 33 working days.My one was a straight forward case, therefore I didn't send any additional documents. Happy to help anyone need assistance.
Thx.

Hi, here is my story:

June 4 I sent out documents
June 7 I received confirmation
July 12 I requested my passport back, as need to fly on July 29
July 22 I got a voice mail from them, saying that they are sending my passport back
July 27 I received all documents and COA (dated from July 22)

I would recommend to everyone to request passport/s back after 4-5 weeks, I think it will put your case in priority for them as they have to return your passport within 10 days after your call.

I don’t think that our case was very straight forward but it’s all good at the end :)

Good luck to everyone!
