Thanks for your reply. So, it is possible to obtain a new TN with a New Employer from within the U.S. while working for old employer and before leaving? Is this understanding correct?

Thanks,

Saikrishna

Some resigning a position are more comfortable going back to the border to get a new TN with a new employer while others do not entertain such risks should they encounter a strict CBP inspector and may in fact prefer applying for new authorization from within the U.S. before making a move.

You can get a TN by mail, using I-129. This typically takes several months unlsee you pay $1000 premium (on top of the $300 fee).

So going to the border is always quicker and usuaully cheaper too.
