cheap flights within europe

Post Tue Feb 13, 2007 9:26 pm

Hi,

I'm just wondering what are good airlines to fly with when flying within Europe. So far, I've been looking at Ryanair and Easyjet. I know this seems like a silly thing to ask, but are they reliable and safe? I guess I just have a concern because they're considered to be "budget" airlines. Also, do they have certain rules that are different from major airlines? Any hidden or extra fees?

Try Wizz air, Sky Europe, german wings, air berlin, and there's a lot more.

Which countries are you flying in?

Im not really flying that much just because I have a railpass, so that will be my main form of transportation. Ill only be flying from Italy to Spain. (ie Rome to Barcelona or Rome to Madrid)

I used both Ryanair and Easyjet to travel and yes they are reliable and save they are "budget" because they don't offer free meals and things like this.

Have used Easyjet and was to use RyanAIr, but they cancelled all flights the day we got 2 inches of snow! Was very VERY unhappy.

Both are reliable (except in *bad* weather) and safe. Very very little seat room, so if you are tall or have a big butt (or even short and have a small butt!) its a tight fit. But its usually for short trips so managable.

Good luck!

Yeah - They're budget airlines for a reason, for sure!

And what I hate the most is that some have "Free seating" - So no assigned seats. Which means chaos at the gate.

Everyone stands in a big group and pushes through, because of course people want to make sure they're sitting together, or that they get the best seats etc. I think some airlines let you choose a seat in advance for a fee. Either way, it's something to be aware of :)

"Aerolineas" is good for Spain. They've got pretty frequent flights.
