I wonder if there is any preference over some ports of entry to apply for a TN status? I live in Toronto and think there are quite a few ports and pre-clearance locations that can process a TN visa in the east cost and am not sure if the choice of location really matters. I appreciate your feedback.

My husband and I crossed the Lewiston boarder.
Have your University Degrees (unframed), Marriage Cerificate (if married), Offer Letter, passport, birth certificate and humility. Be prepared to get on your knees to defend yourself. If the place is empty, the entire process should take a half hour. We went on a Sunday evening at supper time. And remember - there are cameras and microphones EVERYWHERE so if you are with someone, no joking around!
Good Luck!

Detroit - brutal, Mon.-Fri. processing during business hours only, unless you're applying as a nurse.

Port Huron - professional and fair, 24/7 processing.

I highly recommend going to the Peace Bridge in Fort Erie during business hours Mon-Fri. I just got my second TN last Monday and went just after 8am. The Treaty officer is fair and if you have all of your necessary paperwork in order he won't give you a hard time. Since I was renewing the exact same position it took all of 10 minutes. A very fair, respectable gentleman.
